N332 lorry ban
#16
Because theres no easy local on and off. Ondara I think is the nearest South and there is one right on the North side of Oliva but that would take you right onto the N332 towards Bellregaurd where the traffic is terrible

This issue will though still rear its head when the new exit opens on the Gandia side of Bellreguard (that's if it ever is built)

Well if coming from Xativa (as a lot of traffic does) then we have to cut down past where you used to live & are then faced with 2 options Oliva or Motorway, but yes Bellreguard is an issue for those coming from/to Gandia

Does anyone know when:-
i) The Gandia to Oliva rail extension will be built?
ii) Ditto the A38 road by-pass?
I am based in London and visit our house in Oliva when I can. I have tried on the web but the information is unclear. Will the road be complete by 2013 and the rail extension from Gandia by 2020? Or are these dates just fanciful?
The above was my first ever post in 2010! Deja vu.

You are correct, Oliva needs a motorway exit just south of the town near to where the large logistics depot sits. Having just returned from Oliva it's surprising how many lorries that run through the town are from that depot and the new rules in April will not affect that.

The lorry ban on the N332 should have been implemented.
Has anyone used the road and has it made a difference, reducing lorries on the N332 and increasing them on the AP7?
Cheers

I remember reading an article in one of the English weekly papers not that long ago to the effect that the AP7 would be state run once the current contract with the company that runs it has finished, cant remember much detail but think it was around 2018 and the idea was to open it to all for free to ease congestion, didn't take too much notice at the time as it seamed a long way off!!

It's sad you know isn't it. All they need to do is have a stretch of non toll motorway and divert N332 traffic on to it around the Oliva / Gandia area.
Instead they talked about making new tunnels for a new road under Tossal Gros at huge cost.
Wheres the common sense?

When I think of all the research, effort and time that has been put into designing new roads, tunnels etc to go around Oliva, yet they now have the bright idea of doing what every "person in the street" was suggesting from the very start!!!

Shame that they are going to take so long to implement it. Well that is presuming that they actually do go through with it.

Rosemary, talk of the Oliva by pass AND the extension of the rail link from Gandia to Denia has been going on since before I moved to Spain in 2006. Always lots of talk and planning but never any actual progress
