Hi All!!!!!!
I am moving to spain this aug/sept I am having the leaflets printed for my business in england as I can get them dirt cheap.
I will be taking my mobile with me so all my friends and family can keep intouch. My question is on my leaflets do I put my number down as it is in UK?
Or do I need to add or take away and digits?

Hi, add 0034 and take away the first digit of the phone number.
It would be cheaper for you to get a Spanish sim card, if someone is coming over here before you leave the UK they could get you one, then you could put the Spanish number on it, no roaming charges then.

I honestly don't think you'd get much work though if you expect people to phone an english mobile!
you can easily get spanish pay as you go cards, but don't know about online

add 0034 to the beginning of your english mobile number, like mrsjdr said, then taking away the first digit (usually 0) of the number

I am being a bit dense here, but surely if you want to call a UK mobile from Spain, you need to do 0044 and drop the first digit.

I hope for your sake your business has healthy margins.... You are going to be paying a fortune in roaming/connection charges. Do you know anyone who is visiting spain shortley for a holiday. They can buy you Pay as you go sim card for 12euros. problem solved, you have a Spanish number, which means increased business opportunitys, reduced costs, greater margins.

I spent 30GBP on my o2 mobile just in the taxi getting directions when I first got into spain, trust me its very expensive! You will burn through money very very fast. I had to topup to get the rest of the directions, it was a nightmare.

Madness man! I have a UK and a Spanish mobile as the UK one was on Vodaphone passport contract. People still manage to call me now on the UK mobile and I pay 75 p every time plus minutes off my contract. My monthly bill varies around £50 to £80.
My Spanish mobile bill, which is the phone I use, is about 12 - 18 euros a month.
If I looking for someone to work for me and I saw an English number on the flyer ....... I'd call someone else

Just a suggestion but when me and hubby were on about living in spain we too were going to have some flyers for his business done over here so that when we arrived we could post them while he was waiting for work and finding our feet ect. We decided to leave the phone no area blank and just write it in when you got a phone over there.

We have a uk skype number and a spanish mobile, as we can't get the dreaded telefonica to connect us. Best of both worlds. UK can call a local birmingham number or, better still, call sype on the pc, spain call a spanish mobile. Both numbers on the flyer means everyone is happy.
If you have family on the internet in UK then voip is definitely better.

Do a search you might be able to get a spanish sim sent to the UK so you'll know what number you'll have before you go. Youll be paying more though. I paid 24 euros for my spanish sim and it came with 12 euros on it, then when i register it (which seems to need NIE number) i'll get another 12 euros of calls on it.
But dont try and live in Spain whilst global roaming.
And yes your UK number would be 00447xxxxxxxx and a spanish mobile would be 00346xxxxxxxx

Hi,
We purchased a spanish sim card on the internet whilst in the UK. The benefit being that you have your number to pass on to everyone before you leave for Spain.
we used a site www.0044.co.uk They sell sim cards for most countries and were really helpful. Ours was a vodaphone pay as you go which is easy to top up at many supermarkets/shops etc. Someone also told us recently that you can top up online if you have a spanish debit/credit card.
