Hey L Cortez, Camberwell, I went to school there; in Albany Road top end near to where clubland is, also went to clubland but that was back in the late 50's early sixty's; way, way before you were born;)

I was born at Guy's Hospital, I lived just off Albany Road in Westmoreland Road leading into Kinglake Street that leads into the Old Kent Road, Spent a lot of my youth around Camberwell Green, Peckam area. Moved from there to Charlton when I got married in 1972.

For his sins my ex hubby went to Tulse Hill School he started there in 1959/60
I bet things had changed a whole lot by the time you got there, it was an all boys school back then.

Are you here in Spain with some of your family or did you make the move without any support from family and friends. Don't have to answer that one if you don't want to, I'm just being nosey that's all.

Re: MY BACKGROUND!

LCortez. I wasn`t trying to have an argument with you, pointless or otherwise. You haven`t always made yourself clear, not to me anyway, on posts you have made.
You need to learn to control your temper (understandalble with spanish blood - which is the excuse that I, myself, use) and not to have `outbursts` as frequently as you do. But that will come with age, hopefully.

Barney Close, Charlton football ground right on her doorstep, I lived for over 30 years in Delafield Road the other side of Charlton Church Lane, the back gardens run along the railway line.

I was working in Guy's Hospital when you were born, so you had better show me some respect young man;), I worked in the Pathology department from 1987 until I took early retirement in 2003. Where are you living now, blimey you married early, I thought I was young at 19 when I married, what were you 18/19. Now I know your playing daft if you think you are to old to make the move to Spain.

Also noticed you went to College in Massachusetts, I have been there a few times as I have a very good friend who lives in Charlmont, about a 2 hour drive from Boston, did family there or was it just for your college.

Would be interested in the locksmith course for my SIL if you could pm me the details I would be grateful. Ta.

Re: MY BACKGROUND!

I have been making fruit scones for Mal, I'm away for the weekend and I have to leave him something to eat.

Why don't we bring this back on topic and tell each other about our backgrounds.
I'll start.

Born 1953, Guy's Hospital, the youngest of 4 children, 2 older sister, 1 older brother. Mum and Dad were getting on a bit by this time, well into the forty's. My dad died when I was 13 this came as rather a shock to me and didn't really get over it until about 6 years ago.

Lived in Kennington, London until I was 3 then moved to Walworth London, near Camberwell. Hated school, spent most of my time outside the classroom, although I did stay on and took some exams, passed art and english failed the rest. I was asked to be head girl at school, thought god things must be bad if they want me so I left at sixteen. I was offered a scholarship at the royal school of art, but I wanted to be a childrens nanny so I turned it down. Got an interview to enter a college to train as a proper English nanny, but I turned up 24 hours late for the interview, didn't get in, I often wonder why:confused:;)

First job was for the Talk of The Town nightclub, working in the accounts depart:confused::confused: I was bottom in maths all through my school days.

2nd job, working for an engineering company, doing exhibitions. Had to wear black satin hotpants with crop top and a green sash that said Miss Guddibrod on it (name of the american company) and walk around Earls Court Exhibition centre and lead all the old men back to our stand so the reps could sell engineering lacing tapes to them:lol:

3rd job very short lived working for a publishers.
4th job. another publishers, did really well here was administrator of the sales department when I left to have first baby.

Stayed at home for 12 years having baby's and looking after them. Became a child minder, worked as a lay reader for the local church, school governor, hundred and one committees for this and that. Youth work for all ages, you name it I did it was a great learning curve for me.

5th job. Guy's hospital, started as a clerical officer in pathology after 20 years, left, when I was Pathology co-ordinator for the joint pathology service's. Don't know how I managed to hold any of these jobs down as I am useless at maths and I can't spell to save my life, but I do have a calculator and a big dictionary:)

2003 moved here full time.

Next please.

This was mainly owing to the fact that you cant "adjust status"from an investor visa to Perm Res,which she though was taking the p**s.

Have noticed a post from RM asking if I am really 37?.
I would like to take the opportunity to clear that up!
The question was asked (by me),on the US Forum in relation to a friend of mine, who is not a member of any of these forums, and asked me to ask for him.
The question related to the poss of obtaining a Section (212)waiver,on the basis of time elapsed since the offence,to allow him to pass US CIMT laws.

There thats it, take it or leave it.Though I would clear that up before there are any accusitions of dishonesty on my part.
