Default Moving to Yecla

Hi, we are hoping to move to Yecla in January if not before, waiting for Irish passport coming through, we will be purchasing a property on the outskirts of Yecla with a little bit of land to potentially reform/renovate, we will be using a Spanish based lawyer for all things administrative such as NIE numbers and the assistance with purchase of the property, we will also be bringing our two dogs with us which we have researched what is required for them, I guess I am just wanting any other tips from others who have moved out and have any golden bits of advice anything would be much appreciated, also if you live in or near Yecla and know if there is an ex-pat community of sorts out there who meet up for social events although we will also be attempting to socialise and integrate with the local spanish people there also

Thank you in advance

You can get yours and your partners NIE number in your home country at the nearest Spanish embassy.

My advice would be make sure the lawyer is totally independent of the sellers/agent and that you don't have any outstanding issues with land disputes etc on the plot and structure. Yes meet up with Expats but also focus on making Spanish friends and learning the language and culture.

Yecla is a nice place (I have visited - never lived there) I met an American girl on the Santander - Alicante train last September - thought she was in my seat (she was not) got chatting and she lived in Yecla teaching English. Also used to know some Spanish people there but lost contact now but they were very friendly (met through a language exchange group)

Just do everything by the book and you will be fine - enjoy!

Exactly, as growin spain said. However, I would wait for IE passport and use it for NIE, woulnt want UK passport associated with NIE.
Also, spend some time planning taxes in UK/ES, so you avoid pain later.

Would the UK passport make any difference given it's NIE number not residency. The NIE is for life and i have renewed my passport a number of times but that makes no difference to my NIE.
