From: uk at mo moving to spain at end of month

We are moving over to villa martin at the end of the month and would like any feedback from anyone who has relocated with regard to the actual move, ie, removals firm or move yourself, and also the local state school as opposed to an international school. we have two children ages 5 and 13. There are so many websites with contradicting information its a minefield. Can anyone help please???

Hi Tracie
I've just had my things taken over by a UK/expat company based not too far from Villamartin and were very helpful and reasonably priced. They are Pinkies International and have free storage in Spain for 2 weeks after your things arrive there. Ask for Albie.
I'm going over there next week with my dog and am not looking forward to the long drive down to Dover, then Calais to Crevillente!
If you want any Spanish tuition when you get there let me know as I will be teaching in your area.

Not sure if I got a special rate with them because they were recommended by a friend (the previous owners of my new home used them for their removals) but they charged £80 per cubic metre inc VAT/IVA when most of my other quotes were around £105 per cub m plus VAT. We can chat about tuition fees when you have a better idea of how you want to learn - ie as a family group teaching the kids as well or as 1-to-1. I have taught at both adult and junior levels and until I see what the market for teaching privately is over there I'm not sure of what to charge. When do you arrive over there? We could arrange a chat in person when you are settled, maybe?
Let me know if you go with Pinkies and mention that I recommended them - Sharon from Wigan - if you do.
Cheers! Hasta luego

Keep in touch - you can reach me on here or we can PM with direct emails if you prefer?

Not quite there yet - leaving next week, driving over through France 4 days trip so should be there by 17 March. No regrets yet except for not booking the Plymouth - Santander ferry months ago so that I would have been able to take the dog that way and have a much shorter drive! Bit of an adventure just me and the dog and 1500 miles!

Thanks for your advice on the removals company we have contacted them and got a brilliant price. thats one more thing sorted. We leave on 31st march, so not long now. Do you know many people out in spain? It would be good to keep in touch i have msn on most of time or email me it probably easier. Have a good safe trip. Where are you going to be living? you must be very excited!!

Glad to be of service! I'm moving to Crevillente, near Almoradi, 20 mins inland from Guardamar and Torrevieja. I can't wait to leave and be my own boss and have a healthier life. I actually don't know many people over there except for meeting my immediate ex-pat neighbours in the community. I have a cousin over in Camposol in Murcia so will be travelling over there regularly. Where are you moving from? What will you be doing over there for work? <Snip>
