Default moving to Spain/Gibraltar.

Okay, so I've found one or two job listings that I'm perfect for in Gibraltar, and I've wanted to move away from the UK for a while now. I've applied for a lot of jobs in Gibraltar in online gaming (I currently work in online gaming too) but so far been unsuccessful.

The job I do now only requires an internet connection and I've got myself a full time wage, so would it be viable to move out to Gibraltar, or actually, just outside it in La Línea de la Concepción and then search for a job? The ones I've found do require someone to live locally. I guess they just mean there's no relocation package.

My real question, therefore, is can I just find a place to rent online now, pack up and head out? What are the real hurdles one must overcome? As I said, so long as I have internet I have a full time wage, then I can search for a job without the pressure of my saved up cash running out. (I actually don't have much saved up now, but with a monthly wage coming in, that shouldn't hinder me much?). It seems the places I've found to rent are actually cheaper than where I am now, living at home

Anybody got any advice?

If you read the attached post and links, in particular the bottom part about Gibraltar it may answer some of your questions.

My God, are those rent amounts right!? The cheapest one was £750 per month!
La Línea de la Concepción it is then!

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary
