Forget it, you can stop off in any restaurant in any resort and eat ice-cream until it comes out your ears. Spain needs an ice-cream van like it needs the return of Franco.

Steve in another post says there might be hope for you but I think you have no chance. Sorry Ray.

Hi Steve, thanks for taking the time to reply to my thread. I kinda figured there might be lots of stall/shops selling ice creams & the like but I was maybe looking more to-wards near campsites, schools & colleges areas of housing & that type of thing. Wondering if anyone may have seen it in these areas. once again thanks. Ray.

Hi Steve, thanks for taking the time to reply to my thread. I had kinda thought that might be the case with regards shop/stalls but was thinking more to-wards campsites, schools, colleges & the like, maybe housing areas. Wondering what your thoughts are there.
Once again thanks for taking the time.
Ray.

Sorry but I really suspect this is a non starter.
Hi Mike, thanks for your comments & taking the time to reply. I've had experience with block buying concessions in the past & they are a pain to deal with but i'll give it a try. I suppose the local council might put me in touch with them as well as inform me wether they do a roaming type license in Spain as we do in the U.K., but thanks once again for your useful comments. Regards, Ray.

Hi Bob, thanks for your reply, just managed to jump that hurdle so no fall, I can sell my rhd here & buy a lhd but value your comments especially about the registration. Regards, Ray.

However, don't give up the dream to move...just put your heads together, slightly alter your work goal and see where it takes you!!

Hi Lormar, thanks for taking the time to reply to my thread. I've had some valid & very informative comments in reply, yours being one of those. Some of these I just wasn't aware of but now I am I can move forward & contact the relevant authorities & yes, see where it takes us. Thanks once again for your positive remarks, especially the last part.
Regards Ray.

Well worth the effort and cost when you look at the price of second hand cars on Mallorca.
Hi Lesley, thanks for taking the time to reply & the info you supplied, however because of replies informing me I wouldn't be able to register a rhd van in Spain we are now looking at selling it & buying a lhd ice cream van & see if we can move forward that way. Once again thanks.
Regards Ray.

Where I live near Los Montesinos we have an ice cream van come round our urbanisation. The owners take it to a market in the morning then do the rounds in the afternoon, also attend private functions, pool parties, fund raising events etc. This has been happening for several years so they must be making a living.

Ray glad my comment was of help, per my second reply you clearly have an alternative plan. I would guess in that case your plan could support you in the right area. People do tend to like a taste of home now and again. Other issue (I don't know how your Spanish is or specific rules)could be the. Food hygiene qualifications required to obtain a licence to sell on the street? I would doubt UK ones would be accepted (I may be wrong) any course/exam would be in Spanish. You may well have a plan for this or know the answer, just points that spring to my mind. Good luck with your venture I wish you well.

They will also have a license, and very often that comes down to knowing someone at the town hall, or having a relative on the council, I suspect that are a bit like hens teeth for people just arriving.

I would assume they have a licence and hygiene certificate, all I know is that they are English.
