Default Moving to Spain

Hi. I'm giving serious consideration to moving to Fuengirola. I don't speak Spanish yet but am trying to learn the basics. Websites are saying there are English speaking jobs available. I sell and rent property here in Scotland but websites warn not to expect to get a job in your chosen field so I'm happy to take waitressing jobs etc. Can anyone advise on the best way to go about this and how much property costs to rent, expected salaries etc?

I suspect that the english speaking jobs are few and far between, waitressing jobs will be at around €5 an hour, remember that unemployment is very much higher than the UK and, unless you can get a contracted job you will need private health cover, so you need to factor that in.

Hi and a warm welcome to the Spanish forum on BE. Myself and Fred James are the moderators for the Spanish forums whilst BEVS moderates Europe. Moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. This is so that members gain the information that they are looking for and find their experiences on the forums to be friendly and worthwhile.

Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderator who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are usually friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the issues of living in Spain. I hope that you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Thanks for that Rosemary. So much to consider. I am due to go to Fuengirola in May for a holiday so might spend it checking things out. I can ask people I've got to know over there too.

It is not easy to find job, but not impossible. Try this: Jobs in Spain

I have been looking at that thank you. I've got to know a couple if people so intend to ask around when I'm there in May.
