And another thing Rotor: My house has been here about 200 years and it hasn`t been "grabbed" yet. Unless they grab the whole street my house is going nowhere. And Mrs Escriva next door just wouldn`t stand for any of that!

My husband and I are searching for a rental property for 4-5 weeks from about 11 Dec 2010 we would like to be in or near a village/town. [we are in our late 50s so do like some peace and quiet sometimes not all .we would like to meet other people of similar ages .. we have joined the expats club but not having much look finding somewhere to stay, [we would like south of Alicante / Almeria or Malaga and within one & half hour’s drive from either of these airports, [any of these surrounding areas would probably suit us.] Does anyone know of somewhere or somebody who has a place we may be interested in? We would prepare = a detached property i.e. Villa , cottage ,house , Finca etc. with sky TV / internet, washing machine , fridge ,freezer etc
