Hi guys, what a fantastic site by the way, just what i need!
I have booked my ticket to the Costa Brava on the 18th April and I just wondered if you had any advice?
Im 28, a full time musician but not bothered about doing that out there as I'd like to get a job that was all year round. I run my own sales business at the mo which is sold next week, so does anyone know if there are employment opportunities in the Blanes / Lloret De Mar / Barcelona area? For a non Spanish speaker! Long shot I know, I'll probably end up working in bars Im guessing.
Is anyone here from the area at all? Im looking for cheap accomodation, long term to rent too, even just a room so any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!
I really feel I should have been born in the sun, and although Im rather nervous about starting from scratch out there, it beats waking up in the cold!
many thanks,
Keri (Male, girls name,

Hi there, im not far behind you and am 25 so kinda around your age. Im moving out on April 23rd but Im heading for the other costa.. The Costa Del Sol.
So sorry cant help you too much with the costa brava stuff, but I am like minded in the sense that we're doing something very similar at a similar age.
Youll find a lot of the expats are there for retirement and stuff. I havent really come across (on the forums) any young ex pats.
I too am like you and are destined for hot sunny weather. Hate waking up opening the curtains to drizzle and grey skies. And like you ive thrown my career aside to make the move and hoping to make a go of it down in spain. And.. like you.. i could end up just working in bars.
Do yourself a favour though, start learning spanish now. Even the basics will go a long way. To be able to say hello how are you, im well, thank you very much for that, etc etc goes a long way, it shows that your respecting the language and wish to integrate.
Best of luck mate!
onlineamiga (also a girls name apparantly) but its my old nick from when i used an amiga on the internet in 1999

Onlineamiga, you have msn mate? It would be good to speak to like minded people, and who knows mate, I chose the costa brava but am open to knew avenues and places, Im just gonna do whatever it takes to stay there!
I believe I have that S.A.D. thingymebob, as I always get overly miserable in the winter, when you wake up its dark and when you come home from work its dark! Everyone else seems to cope with it and accept it but it REALLy affects me.
I sang out in Lanzarote for 3 months, a couple of years ago and I can truly say it was the most relaxed ive ever been. I only came back for a girl I met there, and now thats over, Im off to make a new life!
Click my username for email address , be good to chat, everyone in my home town would never dare to go for it mate, good on ya too.
