As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary

There are lots of low cost long-term rentals available "around" those areas, but you'll be lucky to find anything "low cost" directly in the center of either Sa Coma or Cala Millor. The holiday let business is too lucrative in those areas to offer something "cheap".

Still, it's a lot of work to rent to holidaymakers, and so some owners would rather take a long-term let than service the apartment every week or two.

You might try some of the smaller immobiliara - here are a couple that specialise in east coast properties:

Mallorca Miet-immobilien (original german)

Mallorca Miet-immobilien (google translated English)

Linda Casas (original German)

Linda Casas (Google-translated English)

Both of these agents speak English, even though their websites are in German (not that many English-speaking people searching for east coast rentals, mostly Germans). You might try contacting them directly to ask what they may have available rather than relying only on what their websites tell you - they tend to work with a lot of owners and other agents, so they may have something that works for you.

Otherwise, you might want to investigate offers in other towns in the area like Manacor, Son Servera, or Arta, which will have better quality accommodation to let for very little money, but you'd have up to 20 minute bus ride to Sa Coma or Cala Millor every day (presumably you're working there).

Good luck...
