Default Moving to Murcia

Hello,
My partner and i are looking to move to Murcia. We have family in Gebas (around 45 mins drive away). Our main concern is finding work. We are not scared to roll up our sleeves but we would like to use our existing qualifications and skills.
My partner (and myself) are Foot Health Practitioners. We do chiropody work (except administering anaesthetics for surgery) and are about to start researching. My good half is already established here in West Yorks and would contemplate flying back for a week every month to ensure wages are still coming in. We are wondering if there are opportunities in Murcia in this area. She also does manicures, pedicures, massage and beauty. Eventually, a shop would be great.
I am also a qualified Religious Education teacher. I am currently doing a TEFL course but would do any work. I would love to teach English and would obviously help my partner with her venture. She is looking to 'test the market' in a couple of months time.
Would you be so kind and give us some advice, words of encouragement or constructive feedback on our plans?

Hi and welcome to BE, I hope you enjoy being part of our community.

I can't help you with your query as I'm in the US, but I've moved your thread to the Spain forum for you. We've got a great bunch of members who post here and I'm sure they will be along soon to share some tips and experiences.

Welcome again

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary

You wont get much encouragement from me, I regret to say, unemployment in Spain is running at 25% countrywide and much higher in coastal regions. The economic state of Spain is changing for the worse by the hour. The banking system is near collapse. Add in corrupt politicians and officials. The future of the Euro is in doubt. If I were to give you some encouragement, I would be doing a disservice. But, you have hope and appear to be one who will keep trying no matter what. Best of luck.
