We ride down the mountain and along the promenade to the fort and back, then spend as much time pushing the bikes back up the mountain to where we live. ;-))

My son is a mad keen mountain biker. There are two sorts with different bikes for each. He is the certifiable kind a "Downhill" mountain biker very specialised bike designed to go like hell down very steep mountain tracks and take all the bumps in their stride. His bike has huge suspension travel and kevlar tyres.
Trouble is the theory does not always work, came off about 6 weeks ago badly scarred arms and legs and a broken elbow.
The other kind "Uphill and down" again has different suspension and gears. All these bikes come very expensive he has spent about £2000 on his and he tells me that is cheap a "Honda" no less is the bees knees and costs about £10,000.
Kath and I have mountain bikes but they are really weedy and are good for road use and some parkland riding.
Regards,
John.

I actually have a really nice MB, its custom made to my requirements and aside from needing a new saddle now is really nice.
I was only asking because I would love to spend a bit more time on my bike and just wondered if many on here did the same. I have managed to find a few books on trails and runs, I have to say I am not a gung ho, manic type, I just love doing it, and it is the perfect way to exercise a very energetic dog!

Loads of cycling in Denia and surrounds - mix of flat and mountainous terrain. Didnt mention it as I know this is not the area you are looking at - unless you are considering a visit to Mitzy!
