I told you all that when you Asked about Aspe and surroundings in the first place but you obviously believed the others. I said isolated, in the middle of nowhere, no facilities, state schools rubbish, but I guess you had find out the hard way. Glad to see you are the type of person that takes decisive action when you find you are wrong though, rather than rambling on about how rosy things are and that others don't know or understand the "real Spain" whatever that might be, but it's certainly not Aspe, La Romana or Hondon, that's for sure.

Firstly, if you are going to try sarcasm, at least get your spelling right, secondly, trying to be condescending (that means talk down to you) then get your facts right.

The population of Aspe is around 18,000 with very few English. There are two English bars which are frequented more by the Spanish.

You say in one breath it is aweful, then you agree the Spanish residents are lovely. If it wasn't for you, that's fine, but don't be so negative about the area and the British. You are one afterall, i guess.

I am really pleased that you now enjoy a good life, but the fact you live in a big house in a posh neighbourhood, quite frankly, is unimportant. It is only BIG in your opinion, like everything else.

You know what they say about guys who say they have a big one....

I know we haven't met, but there was no need to attach a photograph of yourselves, but thanks anyway.

And for you Tele, well, where do you get your first hand experience of Aspe? In the forums, on the toilet walls or where.

You are all so self opinionated it's unreal. Don't tell me, you live in a massive house too.

oh i love all this bollox i really do

and yes teleaddict, if Humble pie was available in mercadonna i would be eating, ys, (oMG shock horror), you were right about the place and the area  There ive said it. you were right.

(I'm of course speaking only for myself, dont want to be accused by some petty loner on the forum of being a double act again!) People should get out and enjoy Spain instead of being sat inside all day on the internet. You can do that in britain (and prob have a faster and cheaper connection too, but......)

and at the end of the day, the lovely beautiful wife and I  and very happy so a happy ending it would seem eh?

It just wasnt for us but at least we had the guts to go on our own adventure and give it a go!

This is my last post, but feel that i have to say one thing. Painter, don't start trying on the Dyslexia guilt trip. Firstly, don't forget your comments about the welsh and as an ex-teacher of people with Dyslexia, i think i know a little bit about it.

Maybe a touch of selective stereotyping or discrimination perhaps.

Anyway, enjoy your life whatever you have and whatever you do.

I'm self employed, and I work a large area covering all of Alicante Province as well as parts of Valencia, Murcia and Albacete. On average I visit around 1500 clients a year and most of them like to chat with me while I am working. So, through their eyes I am able to draw up some sort of stereotypical feeling of the type of people and their well-being and happiness of certain areas. Obviously some of it is opinion (state schools are crap, for example) and some of it is fact (isolated, barren and plenty of graffiti), but whether it's fact or opinion it is pretty real to those individuals who live there.

And BTW I haven't made any claims to live in a big house or be better than anyone else, but as usual whenever someone on this forum doesn't agree with what someone else is saying they have to come up with ad hominem arguments in an attempt to smear the individual (for example, you don't know what you are talking about because you don't know how to spell) rather than relevant ones.
