Decidedly. I'd rather pass myself off as German than admit to sharing a nationality with people like that.

Well, she cared little for those worse off than herself, so I shall extend her the identical courtesy.

Re: Mark Thatcher in Spain
Au contraire. If she had stopped at reforming the unions, and restored balance, she would have done well. Instead she chose to destroy the miners and the unions. You need balance between management and unions, and emasculating one side isn't balance.
Our mines were some of the best in the world, and if we can't ever open them up, we will have lost access to a massive energy reserve. Yeah, had dementia in the family, cancer, and best of all watched as they were relentlessly screwed by government. Maggie will end up buried under a man made lake. - After we have all finished p*ssing on her grave. |
Re: Mark Thatcher in Spain
Bil fancy you rising to the Matt bait and feeding him more. I liked Maggie. The family made even more money thanks to her and a little hard work of course. I know for a fact Lord Archer is still ennobled. Weston-super-Mare still loves him though these days he keeps a lower profile. He still has a house in Cambridge and a flat in London. One doesn't see him in the Upper House of course even his ego knows when to draw the line. I would have thought most of the people on this forum who have made the move to Spain did so with the proceeds of a house which Maggie made it possible for them to buy. I would take issue on a number of her Foreign policies but this is not the place to discuss same. I think Lady Thatcher is due some respect for what she did in office, As I am sure Bil you will give, When that greedy parasite, John Prescott chokes on a pie and passes to the other side ... http://bestsmileys.com/eating1/3.gif

Thats why when we closed the coal mines, we imported coal from Germany that we being subbsidised by the german government that was being subsidised by the EEC.
Not eccomicically viable I think And No I didnt sell a house that I had brought from the local authority cause Maggie made it easy, to funds my life here I worked hard. A lot of the housing problems now in the UK have been caused by the selling of council houses, the funds from the sales has been lent to houseing associations to buy the houses left at a Nil rate of interest LOL and most of them were set up by ex council officalls I know this as my fahter in law was the boss of a Council and apposed the system, he had the opioion that Maggie and crew were looking after the boys. They did Who owns the electricity the water and the gas in the UK not the public any more, Who do you think Norman Lamont works for now, the chancelor that sold it all off. The big company that own it now and there backers Dont be nieve the rich make the rich richer, they do not have a care for the common man. |

Re: Mark Thatcher in Spain
Maggie certainly had a disastrous effect on the NHS, with everything being put to tender, hospitals just going for the cheapest option, which has a lot to do with the problems with MRSA ec, due to hospitals NOT being cleaned properly.

Re: Mark Thatcher in Spain
We subsidised nuclear power because it greased the right hands.
Had we subsidised our coal, like Germany chose to, we could have shipped it out to Australia, paid the Australians ten quid a ton to take it off our hands, AND WE WOULD STILL HAVE MADE A PROFIT. The coal industry was destroyed in order to take power away from the miners, and to enrich all the Tory MPs and friends who had shares in firms importing cheap coal from opencast mines halfway across the world. We had an incredible resource, and the Tories blew it, purely for their own gain. All politicians are scum, but only the tories make scum look good. |
