I don't even know why you even bother to come here at all seeing as you hot tailed it back to England.
You are exactly the sort of person living on the coast (used to) that we want to be away from.
Take more Tonic with that Gin!!!!!
Now where's that ignore button....the one that hides irritating people.

I'm not picking on you, nearly every post you have a dig at people who live on the coast. I didn't like living inland but respect other peoples choice and don't feel I need to include my opinion that everyone lives there is crap on every post unless the topic is being discussed.
I would advise you to include it on you signature, save you keep writing it. Oh I forgot I am on ignore

I think it's down to the fact that the Med coast of Spain has such a bad stereotype, as the Costa Concrete, inhabited by red, sweaty Brits in Union Jack pants and nothing else. People forget that it's not all like that, but enough of it is to taint the whole coast in people's perception.

To be serious there is a certain area down there on the sol around the main resorts where I would dread to live.
Much better your way on the Atlantic coast or much, much further along to the East on the Med, where there are a few pleasant unspoilt places,... that's if it's the still same as last time I was down that way.

I agree, programmes like that do give a bad perception. Rarely mentioned is the hundreds of Brits on the coast involved in charities, others who have invested heavily in businesses and employing spanish workers. There are places on the CDS I would stick pins in my eyes before I lived there, equally so in other areas. There are a lot of nice people on the coast too many who who during the boom years could have sold up and probably bought 3 houses inland. Just happens some people prefer eg. looking at the sea enough to have sea and campo views...even spanish neighbours, if you consider the latter an advantage

The coast versus inland debate is purely an expat thing and on the CDS the poorer expats live inland because they can't afford to live on the coast. You could buy a whole inland village if you sold your villa in Marbella.
And the Spanish who live in the coastal cities of Barcelona, Valencia and Malaga have a very low opinion of their fellow countrymen who live inland, a polite English translation of the inlanders would be something like backward yokels, with an emphasis on the well documented in-breeding in such places.

However having spent a fair amount of time in Andalucia I would say that your statement is much more applicable down there.
