I don't pretend to know all the answers and I certainly don't believe all that I'm told, unlike some. This is just one example, perhaps you'd be kind enough to explain how my understanding is flawed. https://www.google.com/amp/s/fivethi...ct-others/amp/ If you wear a mask and observe social distancing, you are unlikely to become infected or infect others. If you get vaccinated, you are unlikely to become infected or infect others. If you become infected and recover, you are unlikely to become infected again or infect others. Just as with the flu or any other vaccine, it may not be effective for all and some may experience a reaction. Vaccination is not a magic bullet. It will not protect everyone, but it will be effective for the majority of recipients. Much safer than doing nothing. |
Re: Majority of Spaniards will not....
The most important words in your reply are in bold.
I'm still left wondering how my understanding is flawed. |

The conclusion you made is not supported by that article.
Does the vaccine currently used in the UK prevent someone catching the virus? Does it prevent someone passing on the virus? As I've said, I'm a simple soul so a yes, or no, will do. |
Re: Majority of Spaniards will not....
Basically it looks like in Spain they will record people who refuse vaccination.

Re: Majority of Spaniards will not....
You are right Rosemary but just as the modelo 720 is just a device to protect against money laundering it is easily useable to keep tabs on what you do with your foreign assets. I have no doubt that if there are problems ahead with vaccine efficiency the government will use information they have to carry through any policy they might feel necessary to protect its citizens

Rosemary No they will know exactly how many have taken up the offer so no need to have an ID parade (I exaggerate a tad) |

Happy Christmas members and time will tell over this issue.
Those who want it get it of course & those who distrust those in charge will wait until the dust settles to get a better picture (such is life) |

Re: Majority of Spaniards will not....
Were any of the above vaccines created from scratch and administered to humans within a 9 month timeframe?

Re: Majority of Spaniards will not....
No way!

Re: Majority of Spaniards will not....
Unsurprisingly we've managed to improve few things a bit in the centuries since Jenner and Pasteur.
Here is an article explaining how these vaccines were brought to use so quickly The speed at which effective Covid-19 vaccines have come through to authorisation has caused surprise. Compared with previous vaccines, the process has been very fast and so, naturally, people are asking how can it have happened without some kind of compromise on standards and care. Explaining it all as simply a result of the wonders of the latest scientific advances seems vague. So how has it actually come about? In reality, there are at least 10 reasons: some are about good planning, some good science and some just good luck. |

OK Lest make it simple for you.........Why then is there no HIV/Aids Vaccine seeing as you say " Unsurprisingly we've managed to improve few things a bit in the centuries since Jenner and Pasteur."
It has been difficult to develop a vaccine against HIV for several reasons. Whereas most other vaccines work by teaching the adaptive part of the immune system to produce antibodies that clear an infection, antibodies are unable to clear HIV infection. This is because HIV mutates very rapidly, evading antibodies. |

Go work a 12 hour shift on a hot ward and see how you feel about taking the vaccine after. Better still, don't wear a mask and tell us how you feel two weeks later. |

Has some much money, so many scientists worldwide ever focused on a vaccine like this before ? No. I do wish people would look for and at facts rather than believe their mates or some idiot on social media. My wife is 62, left retirement and went back into Nursing in March, our daughter is a charge Nurse and both had had their first jabs. Are they worried? NO. Why? because they looked at the facts/science.
