I cant imagine Spanish middle aged women getting their clothes at M&S
Those that have money will go to EL Corete Ingles or Cortefiel and those who dont will go to much cheaper places
Added on that M&S clothes are very plane compared to what the Spanish wear and the body shapes and sizes are all wrong - English and Spanish women have completely polarised body shapes

Our franchise partner in Gibraltar is opening a 10,000 sq ft store in Marbella, selling the full range of M&S clothing, as well as homeware and food. The store, which will service the large expatriate community, will open in September.

If you're going to quote me, don't chop half of it off & make me sound as if I like Christmas, I'm Mrs Grumpy around that time of year - because these days that's starting 1st week of September. Grump Grump.

Fortaleza was so scornful of my mention of brits yesterday that his reply read as though he was spitting with rage.
M&S management must be every bit as stupid as this female-with-a-forgettable name.

As a bloke I loved shopping in places like El Corte Ingles for Chrimbo prezzies. They offer to gift wrap your purchases as standard. Brilliant.

I never said it was because of poor sales and, yes, it was around 7 years ago. It was 2002 (maybe 2001 if memory is playing up!!!) They pulled out of all international operations.
The ones in the cities will do far better. Imagine just for a second: a city with 5 million people versus a shithole costa with its flip-flopped pasty tourists!!!!

And I am certainly not a flip flop either. Marks will do very well here, I believe it is going to open up at La Canada in Marbella. I certainly would buy my undies there

Doh! Wasn't too bothered but I hadn't thought of that..... at least with M & S we'd know the size meant what it said on the tin
Yay!

But isn`t the second part of La Canada an illegal build or have they changed the goalposts ?

I went to the new store in La Canada yesterday. Not impressed. The prices were horrendous. They are obviously using an exchange rate that we haven´t had for a long, long time. For example there was a children´s book marked at 5GBP and they wanted 6.50 euros for it. Also a very nice mug which I liked which is 5 GBP normally and it was marked at 8 euros. Disappointing.
