The lost symbol-Dan Brown
#31
Can't say I'm too familiiar with Dan Brown and his lost symbol but I'm always interested in a good book.
However looked at the reviews on Amazon and mostly seemed quite disappointing with an average rating of only around 3 stars,so thought better of it for now.
Horses for courses I suppose,..may or may not be my cup of tea....but usually prefer to risk my readies on something with better odds......

A man after my own heart. Love all those authors - have also recently been introduced to Michael Connolly, Peter Robinson and Mark Billingham.

If it's crap there will be a lot of very disappointed people!

All I'm saying is it did not get a great write up in feedback from reader reviews, and quite a few expressed disappointment that it was not up to the mark of the previous ones.
I have read most of John Grishams and kind of felt that his standards slipped somewhat after his excellent early publications.

After his other four books I am afraid that it is not as good as DaVinci Code or Angels and Demons, before I am shot down this is my opinion but I have been a huge fan of Dan Brown and expected more from him. The plot is very good but I think that there is a lot of waffle which becomes boring.
As an avid book reader I also enjoy Michael Connolly and would recommend his recent book Nine Dragons which brought back Bosch. James Patterson has released two new books Ales Cross's Trial and I, Alex Cross which are good. Some excellent authors that I thoroughly enjoy are Harlan Coben, Karen Rose and Richard Montanari, all of these are riviting crime thrillers.
I would appreciate other peoples opinions and recomendations for other authors.

Found Karen Rose by chance when looking at the paperbacks in Asda and am now a huge fan, if you enjoy gripping thrillers with twists and turns then try these. Santa Claus is bringing me her new one so early nights after Christmas so that I can read for longer!!!

I always read a cross section of reviews before ordering and have usually found them to be a reasonable guide.
Will instead now place my hard earned cash on something with a more promising write up.
