Default Looking for work in Gib/Spain 2013

I have been applying from November 2012, but looking to move out in April 2013 in order to gain employment

Can anyone recommend where to find jobs, recruitment agencies?

I will have accommodation so that isn't a problem, it's just finding employment quickly

Hi Rachael

It would help if you indicated what type of employment you are looking for along with qualifications etc.

My background is in Marketing and I have a Business Degree

I also have worked in administration roles and recruitment admin. Ideally looking for jobs in marketing related roles but open to other avenues of employment. I also have extensive experience in the hospitality industry so I could pick up bar work/waitress jobs?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated

Let me guess, you don't speak a word of Spanish or you're "planning" to do lessons real soon?

My best advice is to come over and knock on some doors, meet people face to face.

It's not necessary to learn Spanish we are British and speak English, Llanito and Gibberish

Advice is to become fluent in Spanish, and then when the employment situation in Spain improves, think about it again, the current unemployment rate is something like 40% in many areas, and there is NO benefits scheme to fall back on. You would need to show an acceptable level of income and that you do have healthcare provisions set in place before you could register as a resident, no registration, no job.

Hi Rachael..you need to come and take a look before you make any plans as the situation for most people is very bad and thats for the Spanish so foreigners dont stand much of a chance.

Good luck but unless you want call centre work, time share or estate agency then there is very little going. These jobs are usually poorly paid and very unreliable.
