but this looks a little more tolerable. Maybe not much winter open water swimming but i'm sure there are proper swimming pools open all year (not like here!)
Of course you always get those people who want constant sun and heat but I really don't need a desert. Mediterranean climate sounds fine to me and even a cold sunny day can be great.

Nothing wrong with Almeria. Although we live inland (Seville province) we a go there on holiday several times a year. Cabo de Gata is fantastic and the beaches are pristine. Ok so there are quite a lot of " plastic greenhouses" but the climate there is very mild and it is economical to live. Wherever you chose, please let us know. We love celtic music and although rank amateurs we do play our own instruments. Having lived in Scotland for 25 years we miss the ceilidhs. ( you will get the significance of " teuchter" )

Thanks, yeah the cost of renting a place is about a third higher on the Brava. My husband is from Thurso so even further North than Teuchterland, practically Norwegian! He's mainly a blues/rock man these days, although his solo stuff is beautifully folky. The continentals certainly seem to appreciate "good" music - people playing their instruments WELL.

Will be mounting a research trip soon, after the Alpine winter!

Take care
(or as we say in Scotland, cheers pal
