You might want to look at Lobster, they have about the same data as others (sometime more sometimes a little less depending on deals). Not unlimited data, but everything is in English which might just make life easier.

Digi all the way. Calls to almost 60 countries around the world included, lots of GB, etc. Support is great and you can quickly have a chat with them via the app. Even the *100# menu can be set to English though it's mainly used to check your balance/usage (something that can be done in the app anyway).
Simyo is good too, especially if you manage a couple of numbers for the entire family. Very easy to keep on top of things, customise a plan for everyone according to their needs, set limits or notifications... and all this from probably the best mobile app in Spain. |

just got Vodafone and it’s really good. Unlimited for everything I think I’m paying 40€. I also have access to Movistar unlimited which my wife is using and nonissues on her end
Digi are using the Movistar network, at least for the fiber. Not sure about the cellphone network but it seems pretty good so far at a fraction of the cost. |

The 'unlimited data and calls' plan with Digi (their top tier plan) costs €25/mth. And this includes international calling to 59 countries, including the UK (both landlines and mobiles). Plus you are on the best network as they use Movistar's infrastructure. Personally I only pay €10/mth for 10GB and 400 minutes (incl. int'l calls) as this is all I need, but for €25 you can go for the unlimited option. I started off with Vodafone but ended up dumping them after two months. Moved to Orange which was better. Then moved to Simyo (owned by Orange but HEAPS better!). Then moved one of our family numbers (mine - the rest will remain on Simyo) to Digi and everything is perfect now. |

I came across this recently for anyone who has unlimited or credited minutes on a Spanish phone. It allows you to use you free national Spanish minutes to call the UK very cheaply. I have it on my phone which gives me unlimited national calls in Spain. I called family in the UK the other day for just over 8 minutes for 3 cents. Perfect call quality as it is via mobile rather than internet . May be useful for some people certainly does what I need.

Agreed it may be useful for some people and moremins are legitimate but these days in Spain I can't see why anyone would need to pay anything to phone the UK using their existing mobile deal or at worse by upgrading it for less than they currently pay.
Why ? 1. Most deals now offer at least some data so as long as the person they are phoning is using a mobile in the UK it is free using whatapp/messenger etc. 2. A good few deals now offer free international calls. For instance for 5 e a month ( actually 28 days on this offer) you can get 1gb of data and 100 minutes of national and international calls or for 10e 10gb of data and 400 mins of national and international calls. Whilst it won't be a good deal for many here it is worth noting you can now get unlimited gigas at "full speed" and "unlimited" international and national calls for 25 e a month. Best Loco

More praise for Digi; We went to Germany and the Netherlands for the weekend. No roaming issues in Germany but a minor blip in the Netherlands as it wouldn't connect to a carrier. We connected to wifi on the tram and opened the chat function on the app. Instant response from them advising us to disable the automatic carrier selection feature on the phone. A minor annoyance but that's par for the course when comparing The Netherlands with Germany.

Re: Looking for a recommendation on mobile network provider in Spain, prices/opt
Well spotted. I just checked mine and they're giving me 100GB for 12 Euro and 20GB for 6 Euro, that's with the discount applied for having fiber with them as well. According to the installer they're going for 10GB for the same price or cheaper in Valencia and Barcelona this year, unlikely in that order though.

Simyo has pulled the plug on free roaming in the UK from the 27th of July (1 month from now). So that's a little bit more control taken back.

Did Simyo inform you about this or did you find out about it by chance? |
Re: Looking for a recommendation on mobile network provider in Spain, prices/opt
Digi still include the UK under their EU roaming deal, for now. I read that you can get an eSIM for pay as you go in the UK with Three. I had a quick Google search and drew a blank though. It's a pain to need another provider but it could be a good workaround.
