ok delivery charge is £20 but amortised over 17 items not much more than a £1.00 each.

If you buy your light fittings through a UK supplier will they be bayonet or edison style? Never seen any bayonet light bulbs around here.

of course they will be BC, although if you buy industrial products you will be able to get ES in the UK. Couple of years ago when Sainsburys used to have big display boxes of eco friendly light bulbs for about 10p each they had a big box of ES so I bought a rather large number for work, where many of our fittings were ES.

an ES light bulb fitting from AKI is about 90c. buying a UK pendent means I have to unscrew the BC fitting, but on each it is just 2 screws and I get a "proper" fitting I am happy with.
but you can make the decision to fit ES or SES dependent on the duty and lamp you will be using.

appreciate what Bri & Katee said, just it don't look right, don't feel right when doing it.
don't think this is just a "Spanish" thing as trawling round various manufacturers catalogues - companies like Simon, Legrand, Philips, etc etc offer their products across Europe and the English ceiling rose is not present.

Ah yes Britain does it correctly the first time, not like these johnny foreigners!

Did you know that 2-3 years ago there were calls from within the electrical industry to return to spur type supply (like house in Spain have) and dump the ring main in the UK? The government were actually considering it as well, I don't know what became of that idea, maybe its still being considered.
