That's the alternatives that I spoke of, fine if you want the odd word or two, but I know J2 is Spanish speaking and if you write a lot in Spanish you're better having a Spanish keyboard available on your UK computer.

Our time in Spain was never meant to be permanent, and we have so many things we want to do in the UK that now is the right time to make this move.

Thank you all for the help and information I have received from this forum and I hope you don't mind if I still pop in from time to time.

Adios, hasta pronto. xx
Hope you do look in from time to time, I've been back home since August 2009 and still look in You will be home by the time you read this so hope the journey went well and you are settling in

All the best to you Scampicat

We too are flying back to the UK at the end of January after spending a year in Spain. No regrets, but we have found it much harder here than we had imagined in many ways. Soooo difficult being away from family, especially our children.

We have really enjoyed our time here & will certainly miss that blue sky, but good weather isn't everything & for us at the moment it is just not the right time to live here permanently.

Wishing everyone on the Forum 'Good Health & A Very Merry Christmas'

Thanks both of you for the tips My old laptop bought in the USA had all the Spanish symbols a standard on the keyboard. Suppose it's because there are lots of Spanish speakers. I feel a fool leaving them out on a Spanish facebook etc. Put something on a friends page last week and had to rephrase it when I couldn't find the spanish symbol...he has 340 spanish friends and they all would have seen it

Certainly was, we haven't been to England in December for seven years, it was getting dark at 3.30

Still, we never expected the weather to be sunny with blue skies!

Save your pennies, look at Ryanair/Easyjet, book as far in advance as you can and get some nice long weekend breaks planned. You won't be going back as a tourist, more like visiting an old friend and unlike the tourist you won't need a fortune in €'s everyday as you know where you are going. Ryanair are taking March bookings now, £79 Gran Canaria return

I played this one the night before catching the ferry back to England a month ago and must confess it brought tears to my eyes, even though I expected to be back again in a month or two.

The Last Farewell,....Roger Whitaker

""Far away from your land of endless sunshine, to a land full of rainy skies and gales...and I shall be aboard that ship tomorrow""

How true it turned out to be this time.
Yesterday was the worst yet.
It was literally as black as midnight up here in the middle of the afternoon when the storm began.
Today we have the gales just to top it off.
