My local escuelas don't seem to offer Spanish :-(

I also have never heard of any free lessons, Rosetta stone is a good way to learn, I learnt from that in a short space of time but music is how I picked up the majority of my knowledge. there are plenty of free websites out there that offer a good place to start but practicing with Spanish speakers is massively important also...

If you have internet access there are quite a few freebie lessons on youtube that are quite good.I would recommend michel thomas.his learning formula is so easy to grasp,try it and i will guarantee you will be able to ask basic questions straight away.

You could try the Paul Noble Spanish it uses the same format as Michelle Thomas but clearer speech and less boring. Although not as comprehensive but a good starting point. Here is is a review compairing the two. http://ellenjovin.com/blog/paul-noble-vs.-michel-thomas
