Bless you Sally,
You and your family have had a really rough time of it lately
I haven't posted much to you directly just recently, but I have been thinking about you a lot.
What's the latest news about your MIL? Is she managing to keep her spirits up?
Is she at home with you at the moment?
Keep your chin up hon, and we'll all keep routing for you :thumbsup

Ok, MIL is back in her own flat, but I am going over there 3 times a day. Morning, to help her shower etc, do some housework for her and prepare her lunch. I then come back home to do my house and then go back at lunchtime to cook her lunch and sit with her whilst she eats it. Back home again, after she goes off to bed for a couple of hours and then back again later to do her tea. Not very easy, but she really wanted to go back to her flat. It's probably a bit harder for me, but if she is happy, that's all that matters.
She has an appointment for 16th November to go into hospital to have the left kidney removed, before the chemo starts, so at the moment I am trying to rebuild her strength in readiness for all that.

I'm sure you won't necessarily think so, but I think you're a wonderful daughter-in-law!
I know you just want to do the best for your MIL, and want her to feel as relaxed and happy as she can be in this situation - but please TRY and take a bit of time out for yourself too.
Is there anyone else helping you??
You're currently coping with two very stressful situations (not that you need me to tell you that!
) and if you're not careful, it could all prove a bit too much.
Please try and share the load if you can; and if you can't, then at least you've got us lot to talk to
I really hope your viewers turn up this afternoon - have got everything crossed for you
All the very best wishes to you, your MIL and all the family.
Please keep us posted as to her well-being.
Take good care of yourself Sally.

Sam, you beat me to it, I was about to say to Sally about making sure that she cares for herself during this time or she will have health problems. Now is it a case of great minds thinking alike or folls seldom differing.....I know which one I prefer.
Sally, please do take care and make sure that you are not overdoing it.

Ditto Ditto Sally, you must take look after yourself as well otherwise you will be fit for no one. Maybe you could do what I did for my mum, every Sunday I cooked one pot dinners that could be frozen into individual containers and then took them to her on the Monday. They just needed to be taken out of the freezer, defrosted and reheated. With the help of a kindly neighbour maybe your visits could be cut down from three to two a day. Just a thought Sally, thinking of your health as well.

Hello Sally,I have not been around much either, I am pleased to hear that your MIL is back at home I'm sure she must feel happier and more content in her own flat, however it is hard work for you taking care of her,do try and take some time out yourself too,I do hope all goes well with her forthcoming operation .I'm sure you will keep us updated on her progress.
Take good care of yourself , here is a little something for you

A huge hug to you, and MIL too. Just echoing all others have said, it is easy to give love and care to others but you do need to take some time for yourself and not feel guilty about it, she would want you to look after your self too.
take care,
Luv Eve
