The last I heard from him he was starting to buy his place, but he hasn't been on line (I can see him on skype) or posted here for a while afaik.

No .... he was contacting me really regularly on Skype, and then suddenly he stopped.

That does seem strange Maybe he is having internet connection problems. Hope that's all it is.
