As had been widely predicted
Plan to fingerprint passengers on entry to EU to be delayed again | European Union | The Guardian
An idea mentioned in this article (that passengers should be able to upload biometric data via an app or another secure method, away from airports or ports) seems sensible to me, better than risking chaos with massive queues.

Poorly written headline, attention grabbing.
No delay has been officially announced and guardian is not EU body. However, EES might get delayed and if it does it will be probably to Jan 2025, just my guess.
Ideas about app are nice, but who's going to write app, who's going to link it up to EES and by when? Another idea by people who dont have to implement it.

About January, well, there is zero chance switching EES in December. It will be complete disaster with christmas holidays.

Says who? It might be true, it might be false, who knows. For now, it is just rumor and gossip.
In Sep monthly EES meeting said nothing as such. We need to wait for meeting report that was held at beginning of Oct.
It could be that info leaked from Oct EES meeting.

So first it's just rumour and gossip but then it could be that info was leaked from the Oct EES meeting? More than a little contradictory.

We don’t really need to wait for anything ….. it’s a forum we can quite well discuss the many media articles, some from reputable outlets. If you don’t like rumour and gossip then don’t speculate January and add to it 😂 . If it was a forum of facts only it would be quite boring.
I dont. When it comes to news, unless it quote reliable source, its just boring noise.
In this case, guardian provided no source for their story, poor journalism from reputable newspaper.
On contrary, FT and EuroNews delayed publishing story until they could quote official source. That is proper journalism, facts based.

Well, it is your privilege to believe in gossips, fairy tales, pink elephants and so on. There is a reason tabloids sell.
