Hi All! (Newbie Mallorca)
My first post as information to ("Jazztel or Telefonica")

Yesterday afternoon I was looking for the contact number of the Sales department of “JazzTell” when I came across one of your member’s strings on Telefonica or Jazztel?

I would like to share my experiences and excellent service received by Telefonica: We have been residents on the Island for Six years now and been with Telefonica for that time as providers of landline and ADSL connections.

Apart from the occasional line and ADSL down time we have had no major problems until June 2009.
At the end of June last year I called customer services and requested a line cancellation at that location and asked if we could have the same number and associated services at the new place which we were moving into in three weeks time, the new place was only 3klms away.

To my surprise a Telefonica Engineer called my mobile one week after we hade moved in to make sure that there would be some one at home for his visit to install our line and ADSL, as there was already an existing line still connected and operational at the House it was no time at all before we were up and running,
But! We had been given a New Number?

Approximately one month later our first bill (Factura) arrived for the connection of the new installation and associated calls.
The following Day another Factura arrives, this one is also for the full month of July but it was for the OLD number, not a problem simple mistake I thought, so I gave them a call.

Speaking to the Lady very nicely explained that I had received two facturas in two days, “Just one moment Sir”, I will check the computer…….(Nasty Music for at least 10 minuets), At last She returns! Sir the reason for the two Facturas is because you have two phone numbers and lines in your name so you must pay both. I spent a further twenty minuets explaining that I had cancelled the line and the ADSL service, she said I will sort this out for you.

Month after Month we received bills for the old number and ADSL at the same time as our new number and ADSL, each month I have called Telefonica and Yet again explained THEIR Problem, now according to them I am falling further and further behind and they can not cancel a service when it is in arrears.
Each month I have cancelled the payment, which Telefonica still try to take from my Bank account.

After having a very good Christmas and New years Day in the UK, we returned on the 3rd Jan 2010 to be greeted by a welcome home call from Telefonica, Sir you owe us €400. And we also need a security deposit on your new phone line, So yet again I explain and again listen to what seems like hours of terrible music whilst they keep me on hold, “Sir” you need to give us ten Days for the system to reset, gave me my third Reference number and ask me to call back after that period.
Ten Days Later! I call back and yes! A result, they have cancelled the Old Number! Last October (They Say) but I owe them €89.77 for that month of October?? I refuse to pay, so even though I am completely up to date with my new account, one week later they cut my new number off.

One week at a time I call back and explain the whole story “EVERY TIME” they say 72 hours and you will be back on line.
It has now been one month without a Phone connection, and to my surprise I receive a Factura this week, for Line rental, ADSL and virus protection for the month that I have spent complaining that they have cut me off.
I call and explain that they have sent a Factura to me for a service which they have disconnected, they state that this is because I still owe the €89.77.

So this is why we have now contacted Jazztel and arranged for a service through them.
I really hope that I do not have to go through the same again? What ever happened to “BUZZBY”?

I hope this gives a good indication of the outstanding service, which Telefonica offers to their customers and the highly trained “MUPPETS” who work for customer services.

Good Luck
Best wishes

Thats how I rate telefonica.

On moving home across the street, I was told this could be done in 15 working days, but if I wished to retain my telephone number it would take 1 month? (normal spanish working days surely being 15).

On moving, the engineer quickly came and fitted the adsl. Great service.

One month later my adsl stopped working, when I phoned, I was informed that I had not paid the bill from the last apartment, which I had never received for 3.22 euros. Questioned as to why I wouldn't have received the bill, I was informed it would be sent to the previous address, clever huh.

So I paid, then later got disconnected again from new number for non payment of current bill, which I still never received. Going very carefully with them, through the complete address again, we discovered they had failed to include the house number, only used the block number for the apartments.

Guaranteed by telefonica this would be changed and I would get copy of this bill and all future bills but I needed to pay the 83 euros now. This I did at the post office next door. When I then requested reconnection, I was told could take up to 5 days. It didn't and we were reconnected by the next morning.

However, for the following 7 months, no bills arrived and every month I was being cut off because it was up to me to phone them when I knew the bill would be due to find out how much I owed them, according to telefonica. Then yippeeee we received a bill. I find out the promised adsl promotion is not being charged and also incurring 25 euros a month for late payments.

So for 3mb of intermittent adsl, and telephone line which I use maybe twice a month, I am being charged nearly 100 euros a month. Guess what? I won't be using them when I move next week. I'll find something better.
