Default Jazztel or Telefonica?

I'm thinking of having a phone line put in just for internet use, as the wifi system we have at the moment with a local company via a small antenna on the roof is becomming very hit and miss. As their client list grows bigger, the demand on their inadequate server means it's impossible to get, or maintain a connection at peak times.

It would appear that I have two choices, either Telefonica or Jazztel.
I've done a search on here re Jazztell, but there doesn't seem to be anything recently posted. Has anyone got any recent experience of them good or bad?

I understand that both companies are the spawn of the devil. But the Jazztel online offer works out about a third cheaper.

years ago Jazztel was crap, for the last 2 years since the new management took over they have the best service, best call center(they are really good and I have tried many call centers, they know about opening ports for example for emule , online games, ...!) and best prices, had telefonica for 10 years and was surprised by the quality of jazztel, find a frined with jazztel, mention it when you sign and both will get a discount( they have a stron mouth to mouth marketing strategy...)and price is good!

Since it is a Spanish government site - probably not.

Surely it isn't that difficult to understand?

Well I tried to set up a contract with Jazztel via their web site, only to find that the subscription page wasn't working. (not a good omen) I then e-mailed them my request and got the automated reply saying that one of their staff would ring within two days to arrange instalation
After waiting for a week with no call I've decided that if they can't be bothered then niether can I, so have bit the bullet and subscribed to Telefonica. (At least their website works)
Let's see how long it takes them to ring and arrange things

I'm sick of Jazztel phoning me to offer me a better service - on a daily basis

For that reason alone I'd never go to them.

Applied on-line to Telefonica at 15:00 yesterday, got a call from one of their engineers this morning at 09:00 asking if we were at home. He arrived at 09:15 and by 10:00 the line was installed and everything was up and running.

So far, so good

I dare not sign up any site which is not in English. If there is a problem, it will be very difficult to get it sorted out.

Telefonica have an english speaking helpline but it doesn't deal with technical faults once you are a customer.

We had a problem with our ADSL recently and when we called the english speaking service said we had to call enginneering directly. This turned out to be another company that Telefonica have outsourced the technical service to. No-one spoke english when I called them but I fortunately after a year of lessons I managed enough spanish to make them understand the problem and an engineer turned up first thing the next morning to fix it.

Have to say I can't fault Telefonica on the technical side but their admin is terrible.

Hi this is my first post here, mainly because it was this thread that got me onto the site and i thought i should contribute.
I too was looking for a ISP, after being with orange for many years i wanted to see what else was on offer.
I decided to call jazztel, who installed the telefonica line a week later and 48 hour later (it was los reyes holiday so i assumed it may be more) i got a call from the delivery guy who delived my router. plugged it in and it worked!!

just bought a mac.......had a few issues with connecting.....the tech guys on the phone were grt...i think i waited about 10 mins to be connected to them...it was a silly password issue so totally my fault.
I cant really say how good the tech guys are as my problem was a silly one.
so i will wait and see.
speed wise they say up to 20mb but of course im hitting only 7.84, but its cool. its fast enough for me right now. im paying appx 40€ per month for the line included.
i hope this helps anyone who was in the same dilema as me.
ill keep reporting if there any problems that arise.

I moved from Telefonica a couple of years ago to get a cheaper price.

I am very satisfied, never had any problems, I get at least 10mg and can download very large progs and pages without any problems.

I pay just the one bill to Jazztel and they pay for the telephone line.

About 51 euros a month, plus call charges which are not free e.g. 902 numbers (Which incidentally are not charged at local rates as some advert risers would like us to believe but at long distance rates). All calls to fixed lines in Spain are free.

For mobile calls I use either my cell phone which is on HITS, 15 connection 7c per min. or 35 connection to UK plus 5.4 cents, per min or, VOIP on my PC which are cheaper.
