I agree with you Matt. If you have a working dog then docking does prevent them fron injuring themselves and aslong as is carried out by a vet with pain killers and follow up appointments then all should be fine but there's no need for a family pet to be done just cos people think they look better! My cocker has a tail and she looks perfectly fine with it!

If its done by a vet fair enough but they dont do they - an aquaintance had a friend who had a rottwieler (soz cant spell it) the person they got it from had docked its tail and it went bad - the dog was in a right state and lost the whole tail - mind you hearing about it it must have been glad to get rid of the pain.

Think shops selling kittens and puppies must be banned now in Uk because you never see them. But there are a lot of adds in free newspapers offering various breeds of puppies from yorkshire terriers to st bernards all on one phone number so they must be buying them from puppy farms and selling on at huge profits and I always wonder what happens to the ones that don't sell
A good dog breeder does not need to advertise their pups...most are sold before they are even born. The people selling multiple breeds are probably puppy mills...sometimes they breed the dogs themselves or buy dogs that unscrupulous breeds can't sell. :curse:

As I am sat here on the puter my little boy is fast asleep and dreaming. I love those little noises dogs make when they dream
I wonder what he is chasing in his sleep?

I cant even look at the link!! It really depresses me what people are capable of. I have a patterdale terrier and he is def the love of my life, he is 1 yr old but he is wise beyond his years, if my hubby or kids try and cuddle me he bites them, not sore, just mouthing, but he does it silently, not a peep out of him, who says animals are dumb. I dont think so !!!
