Default Internet suppliers for Nerja

Hello
I want to have wifi installed for my home in Nerja. I don't have a phone, Internet is all I want. I've found two companies Nerja Solutions and Broadband4spain. They seems very similar on products, prices etc but just wondering is anyone has any extra comments to add as to final choice.
Thanks

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

I believe that for both of these companies you must have line of sight with one of their masts. My understanding is they have a number of relay masts in the area. I know someone who has broadband4spain and swears by it. Other thing with them is you pay the first 6 months in advance that includes fitting and supply of eqpt and after that 6 months just payg. Also I believe if you are away they can stop it and start it again on return you pay nothing whilst off. I believ you contact them they come and survey and tell you if you can get signal. One other thing don't know about Nerja solutions but broadband4spain you can get Iplayer etc.

BB4S is the better deal and I have heard more reliable. I am a Nerja Solutions customer. When I started there was no other coverage. When (if) I can afford it I WILL change.

That's absolutely right, Bob. We took out a contract with BB4Spain in February this year, and have nothing but praise for them. We do have line of sight to their mast in Comares, and have the wifi aerial mounted on our roof terrace. Even in an old house with very thick walls we get a strong signal in every room of the house and the speed has been consistently good (well, compared to the Vodafone dongle we used before, that is!). The service has been very reliable too, I can only recall one occasion when we were getting no signal and rang the company to be told that an engineer was already on his way to fix the problem at the mast. It was back on within 30 minutes.

I am on a dongle at the minute as only visit every couple of months I use Masvovil which is ok and not too expensive for skype and email. When we move over full time I will be going with BB4S.

I spoke too soon about only losing signal once so far - it went off for about 3 hours yesterday but that was due to a lightning strike on their mast so I suppose they can be excused! Engineers were already working to resolve it by the time we rang the company.
