Hi there. Could anyone advise if it is necessary to make an appointment to attend the local INSS? I will be asking them to forward a claim form for Australian Pension on my behalf (as instructed on the claim documentation). Also, if there are any other forum members who have applied for an Australian Pension from Spain, I would love to hear of your experiences.
Many thanks

You don't have to make an appointment, but if you don't you might have to wait for quite a while, or they will make the appointment for you in the Seguridad Social office.
You can make an appointment using the link below. I believe you can switch the language from Spanish to English - click on where it says Castellano in the top right corner. But I think that past this first page, the rest is all in Spanish.
There are different ways to access the appointment service. If you don't have a digital certificate issued by an official Spanish authority like FNMT, you probably want to click on No Certificate.
Once you enter your information (name, passport number or NIE), it will give you a list of offices and you can pick the office closest to where you live. Then after picking the office it will let you pick the date and time.

Around here the security guard turns you away if you do NOT have an appointment.
Different areas, different rules.

Thank you very much everyone, especially for the link. I've managed to make an appointment - and learn some Spanish into the bargain!
