I am not saying this is a reason not to consider Blackstone Franks, it's just a comment.
Some years ago I sought advice from BF. In the course of the conversation I discovered that a former mate of mine was employed by them as a financial adviser: When I knew him he was a detective sergeant. He retired after 30 years and thus did not have a 'life times' experience in the investment world.

Apparently the regional government of Catalonia has all but abolished Inheritance Taxes for the majority of beneficiaries. Let's hope that this will put pressure on the other regions to follow their example - http://www.tumbit.com/news/articles/...abolished.html

Yep, been like that in Valencia (which includes Alicante of course) for ages - good news.

The link you gave doesn't give much detail. To increase the allowance to 99% is hardly relevant as the national rules allow a 95% reduction on the main residence anyway.
If it applies to the total assets that would be different.
Also does it apply to non residents - so far in Spain all these special allowances are for residents only - although Spain is under pressure from the EU to treat residents and non residents alike for IHT purposes.
