Family members with UK citizenship or settled status can live permanently in the UK and will not need to take further action to do so.

Family members without UK citizenship or settled status will be able to live permanently in the UK subject to immigration rules,

This was copied directly off the UK Government site, so it's obviously untrue to say UK citizens can't return, it came about through bad journalism.

A citizen can always return, but if returning is only possible without the prospect of his/her family joining ever then that's a very qualified right, it's true to say not all British citizens have the right to return with their immediate family, and that that limitation applies to a great many more people after the end of the transition period.

I believe that has always been the case for those who are married to a non EU national? Now we are leaving EU, it should come as no surprise that partners who are not UK citizens will require permission to reside in UK. BoJo is taking back control of our borders :-(

All nationals living outside of UK prior to Brexit and married to EU partners should have been granted the right to return at anytime. Changing a law like Brexit does punishes law abiding citizens and is immoral

OK, So I do not get this really. What's the issue? There is a visa AFAIK that allows the partners of UK citizens to join, go and live in the UK with their partner. They do however need to meet the UK criteria regarding relationship , income , support , work and the like.

The UK decided to leave the EU so the above will then pertain if whoever are not already relocated. This is what is applicable for all those outside of the EU so will surely be applicable once the UK is not a part of the EU. Why would this not be so or unfair. It was a choice the UK took.

Same re UK state pensions really.

This is no different to many many countries and their immigration policies with regard to non-citizen/resident partners and family. One needs to meet the requirements & be habitually resident.

It is unfair because some UK / EU families moved to EU countries to work, live ,have families etc. Many did this well before there was any hint of Brexit. Their actions were legal and at no point could they have foreseen Brexit. These people now find themselves faced with a situation where they have to meet stringent conditions to return. The income requirements and type of jobs determines if they can bring their families. In many cases they lived in UK before moving and contributed tax and NI. My non EU wife cannot return to UK having lived there for 20 years. She has property there which she pays UK tax on. She even paid for a private pension. Is that fair that the UK government should consider her a drain on their resources when she actually contributes to them?

I would imagine most Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish will welcome independence as an opportunity, the only benefit and possibly the best outcome from the Brexit fiasco.

I think that we could possibly be about to to witness a colossal historical moment in the next 24 hours. If a no deal is allowed it will be ( privately) what the SNP want. It will be the start of a process that will change irreversibly the nature of identity, culture, and nationaliy of everyone in the UK. It will not be seen as the result of exterior consequences but solely the politics of one single party and a few dozen MPs. RIP UK!!!
