Exclamation Illora - Madrid

Hi ... we planning hols to spain next summer ... we going to live with the family in Illora. Just wondering would that be possible to drive from Illora to Madrid? How bad the traffic in the town centre and how exspensive the hotel is?

Do u recommend Madrid for sightseeing and looking around? If not can u recommend any other places/cities to go with 4 yrs old boy?

TIA

If that's the Illora near Granada, I'd say it would be a 4-5 hour drive to Madrid, with a couple of stops. Certainly not a return trip for a day out, unless your family loves driving or you're prepared to do it by driving as fast as you can.

Madrid's a great city, though infrastructure works mean that getting around can be difficult at the moment. There are plenty of activities for children if you're planning to stay a couple of days as part of the holiday, but unless you're really keen, you might just as well save it for a later trip and stick to more local cities like Granada and the beaches.
