I´m not sure why a child killer/rapist is mentioned in the same line as "good behaviour"
Now forgive me for sounding stupid (it won´t be the first time), but how would such a monster misbehave unless prisons now have child inmates? Also, for someone to have taken "human life", or three, why are they given "human rights"? |

Sometimes you do get surprised by other country's justice systems. A few days ago I read the story of a Kenyan accused in a Kenyan court of abusing a goat. I won't put the link on here in case it upsets people.
But what surprised me was that the victim, the goat, was brought into court. It was quite big and black and looked a bit sorry for itself, its stump of a tail was down. We are talking about human rights, but that Kenyan court has taught us a lesson about animal rights too and a justice system we can only envy. |

Now that the goat story seems to have gained some respectability, I can reveal something I personally witnessed in the UK, well, Devon actually.
I had to call on a man who owed me money, a local gypsy who had bounced a cheque on me. He sheepishly invited me into his council house which didn't smell too good and hunted for his cheque book. We were in his living room and while he was hunting in the kitchen a sheep wandered into the room from his bedroom. I like animals and went to pet the sheep. I was astounded to see that the sheep appeared to be wearing lipstick. I got another cheque, which bounced as well, and left his house feeling that humanity wasn't as straightforward as I had imagined. |

Though obviously he'd found a good use for it.:cool: I bought a town pub in north Devon, probably one of the daftest things I've done in my life. It had been there for as couple of hundred years, supposedly with ghosts, but I never saw one, though I may have heard some, who knows. It was taking under a thousand pounds a week and I soon realised I was going to go skint because of my foolishness. There were 12 pubs in town and gipsies were banned from all of them. The king of the gipsies came to see me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. If I let them into my pub he would guarantee there would be no trouble and he would honour any cheques that bounced. He was wrong about the trouble, but kept his word about the bounced cheques, I changed hundreds of them for people who had to put a mark on them because they couldn't read or write. My takings went up to incredible levels and the breweries gave me discounts to make my head spin. Of course it could only end in tears, the local non-gipsy population and police came after me big time. I took the hint and escaped to warmer climes. |
