I've not used my hotmail for anything for over four years now, I just receive my notifications from this site on there...
In all that time it's never stopped working and I don't get any spam!

When I set up my very 1st e mail address it was inundated with all sorts even though the filter was set at highest possible. I was new to the www and surfing all sorts. 200/300 spam mails a day was the norm. Now it would take weeks or months to get that much. Using your email generates spam.

Can I ask what you mean by 'linked'?

there are 2 options - you can link them so that you can switch easily between them without logging out & in again when you switch between them - or you can just have e-mails to all accounts diverted to just one

I use the first option, preferring to keep work & personal stuff separate, and also have access to one of my OH's accounts & have one I use for cr@p

lynxxa this is exactly what I had and which has disappeared. The ridiculous thing is that they are both hotmail accounts one .com and one co.uk.

OK - I have just checked my two hotmail accounts and for some reason they are already linked - I don't remember doing that in fact I didn't even know you could do it Now how do I switch easily between the two?

click on your name at top right - you'll get a dropdown - you should see both accounts there

you can just click between the two

Ha Ha. I've found that it's in the nature of geeks to be helpful. Someone once said to me "Geeks make the best Husbands" So I married one. Never regretted it!

that sometimes helps in all sorts of circumstances

I didn't even know that one could link email accounts - just done it!

However, the only advantage that I can see is that I can now switch between them effortlessly.

Are their any other benefits?

well if you can get your kid's e-mail accounts linked you can get into theirs too


only joking - ish............

no, I can't think of any other advantages - it does save time though
