Hot Water Bottle?
#1
It's not for me you understand
. But the OH does feel the cold, and it is a bit chilly at the moment. Anyone know where we could buy a hot water bottle? Tried Jumbo and Carrefour but no go. I've even suggested she snuggles up to me, but we've been married 40years

Ale Hop still have them at the moment but as the summer stuff is creeping in they will not be there long. Carrefour did have them but maybe they have removed them as it is March.

You may have more luck with a microwave wheat bag. I'm sure you may be able to find a shop selling them....perhaps the Chinese shop?

I have seen them in the Chinese shops also in one of the farmacias. Ale Hop VRSA might still have them. I have a microwavable one, can't remember where I got it though. The ferreteria might be an option also.

The best is to try in pharmacies.

They are my first port of call for almost anything. I rarely ever buy anything in a shop unless it’s a cheap Chinese place. A friend had a big birthday recently and I wanted to give him a bottle of good French Cognac, not the easiest thing to find in Spain! I found one at a good price, ordered it at 4pm on a Sunday and it arrived at noon Monday with no delivery charge.

Just been to suss out Decathlon on the new Industrial Estate on the far side of Lepe, and noticed hot water bottles in the store towards the back of the Estate. It's a bit like the Chinese shops, but bigger.

Had to reply to your post Fred, even though it is a bit off topic. I just thought it was a bit sad (as you live in Spain) that you had gone for French brandy. There are some absolutely stunning Spanish brandys out there if you look around. We wanted one for a friends 70th and went to a local shop in Ayamonte were we were treated to a tasting session to decide which one we liked. It was difficult as they were all delicious but we had a good time deciding 😉Regards Bryony
It was a present for a friend who loves the French stuff. It's hardly up to me to criticise his choice.

Whatever takes your fancy at the time - and e.g after food. A nice grappa works too, which I prefer after e.g Italian food. I have a Nonino at 50% and a Barolo based one - both are delicious digestifs. All these can be drunk in any geography. We always try and stock Fernet Branca as well, an acquired taste, but hard to get in Spain/Portugal. A nice VSOP / XO is good too - anywhere.
FYI though off-topic I buy most of my alcoholic drinks from Buy Wine, Liqueurs and Spirits | Buy Online at GrauOnline.com (no commercial connection)
Even with the delivery charges it is so convenient to get home delivery and the prices are great, with a good choice. Delivery charges come in 'chunks' not per bottle, so you can play with the quantities in the shopping cart till you get the best value for money re delivery costs. I do this once a year and have a 'stock'.
BTW: However living in ME, its hard (impossible?) to feel confident about home delivery, for packages. In Belgium we have an alternate delivery address, a local shop that get a commission for holding my order. This way the delivery company deliver once and so also save money, and I pick up at my convenience. It would be great if the GC or shop offered this service.
