Default Hondon - Montanosa Urb Update

Just a quick April update for those coming to live in Hondon Urb.

Weather is warming up nicely now. People are venturing from their calor gas heaters into warmer gardens and talking over gates and walls - very friendly. It seems dog walking is a 'bone' (pun) of contention with some.

The vines and almonds are well on their way now. Garden's have sprung into a colourful life. The main road roundabout is 'decorated' now (loosely described). The Contrimar houses have also come on so much on Montanosa Urb, the damn pecker (hydraulic rock crusher) HAS GONE I hope. The 'commercial area' is being cleared of overgrown weeds and debris. Some of the green areas have had children's playground things fitted... (but not many children to use them). The water issue has been fine and on tap, except this week the water tank piping burst and emptied it's contents down Calle Algofra, no damage done just a big waste. I believe the Agua Valencia has taken over the water system now (but not 100% sure).

There's a new bar/restaurant in Frailes main street called Viente Ocho, which gets good reports.

AND they have started cleaning the communal pool ... I think they are trying to get it ready for summer!

That's all for now folks!!

great news, and thanks for letting us know. We are over next weekend to check on the progress of our house, loking at the photos it seems to be finished but have not been told. Must admit the water issue was a concern so it was good to see your post. We get the ferry over on 1st october so hopefully the house will be complete or we will have to find a rental!!Hopefully we will all meet up eventually

Thanks, GrapeEater, for keeping those of us who don't live in Hondon informed of any progress (and for the weather update).
Much appreciated!
Best,

Thanks GrapeEater, sounds just fine!

What did you mean though about dog-walking being a bone of contention?

Hi everyone

We have just returned from a lovely fortnight in Hondon and fully agree with Grapeaters comments.

Everyone is out in force gardening and I have almost had several collisions into lamposts from nosying at everyones lovely gardens!

We have met some lovely people and discovered some great bars in Frailes (the service road makes Frailes a far better option then Nieves!) and the Spanish and English socialise together. My 18 year old had a fantastic time!

The builders are like a hugh army of ants and my children got really excited when they saw the pool being cleared. We desperately need more young children moving in asap so our house it not the only noisy one!

We have found some lovely walks up through the mountains at the back of the urb and couldn't believe how lush and green it was! Does anyone know where we could get a local map showing all the public footpaths/trails? (PRV's I believe they are called on the little wooden signs)

See you all soon
