Default Holiday Home:Mazzaron Region Mercia

Hi
Could anyone help me please regarding this region
Is there anyone living in this region?
Searching at properties round this area in the future. Maybe a possible holiday home one day?
Does anyone have a holiday home in costa del sol or Murcia any info in best places,
Sorry to bombard with questions lets just say it has been a very long time since I have been to Spain!

Thanks
Scoobydo

A friend has just come home from a holiday in Camposol. If what he says is true - avoid it.

Mazzaron is a long way from CDS. It is in Costa Calida > see here http://www.mazarron.co.uk/.

The nearest airport is Murcia, circa 45 minutes.

Houses are cheap there, but it's not a place I would choose for a holiday home.

We went for a look when house hunting like yourself. Camposol is a sprawling urbanisation and if you are outside the 'main' sector, you will feel isolated. It had the feel of being slowly abandoned, stray dogs and rubbish everywhere. We did not like it at all. There are several 'hard core' residents, but generally its in decline.......anyway, do you want to hear a lot of english spoken wherever you settle in Spain? Because it has a large amount of UK population! The Port Area was okay, however.
Personally, having spent AGES looking for 'our' place, we headed for the hills and now own a place in a small hamlet outside Baza, Granada amongst the 'locals' who are fab.
Good luck to you in your quest, I hope you find what you need!

Last time we had a thread that was at all critical about Camposol, we had an influx of new members who were all resident there who were very anxious to contradict any negative comments about the place. None of them have been heard from since, although I did ask at the time whether anybody who lives there is at all interested in anything else to do with living in Spain. I wonder if they'll be back now?

And don't forget the one who threatened to denounce me, just because I said "you couldn't pay me to live there"....
I believe she denounced people on an almost daily basis and was the proverbial pain in the butt, but has now returned to the land where she may feel more at home.

I'd better duck now before the flack starts to fly!

Read the thread in Siesta time about an expected collapse in house prices, especially on the Costas.
