High maintenance to me is a spoilt, preening, self obsessed mannequin who cares more for their personal appearance than they do for any living creature.

No, stay at home fathers do the same job as a woman who stays at home rearing the kids. Both are deserving of respect, and neither could be justly described as high maintenance.
