High maintenance women
I watched recently an episode of 'Come dine with me' in which a woman described herself as "high maintenance"
My questions are: Does a woman conciously decide to be 'high maintenance'? Is it confined mainly to women who are very beautiful and therefore can get a bloke to do whatever they want. Is it behaviour learnt or copied?
I'm sure that there are also lots of men who are 'high maintenance' as well, so please feel free to comment on either sex.

hang on whilst I ask the better half........
q1 - probably not, they just grow into it as they realise what they can get, although moving to Althrincham, Cheadle Hume areas help
q2 - not necessarily, we all grow older and are liable to change in the same way as some people always get rid of a car before its first MOT
q3 - see 1 above, but once on the payroll then talking with others soon shows who is getting more than the others.
with men they usually take from their business via expenses and dividends to fund the little woman
is this a Men Only Thread ?

Re: High maintenance women
Here is a wiki link, so women can leave this topic now.
Although it's a link to high maintenance women, it's not relevant to the thread but all decent threads should have at least one link.

Re: High maintenance women
Well a chap we know had an ex-wife who was distinctly high maintenance (£000's in Harrods in an hour, used her own income on herself and had an allowance from him and he paid all household bills........) but yet he also seems to reckon his current is high maintenance not for her spendthrift ways but because she expects conversation and her 'challenging attitudes' to be taken seriously!!
From all accounts the financially expensive one wasn't a stunner, but did make the most of herself.
Then again, does high maintenance necessarily mean big buck spending? I for one certainly wouldn't know!

Maybe I'll just sit this one out, lacking the appropriate experience in such matters and definitely not having been involved in the money's no object world of celebs and high society.
Personally, I would seriously have to reconsider my relationship with any woman who expected anything more from me on a night out than a couple of beers, a bag of crisps and a little bit of the other.
Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm a stingy old git, but more that I'd feel the need to question the ladies true motives and be sure that she really was genuine.
Being such a true romantic, I would just hate to think for a single minute that she might possibly want me for anything other than my body and my charming personality and I hope that I would be honest enough to admit that any other form of relationship beyond that simply wouldn't work.

I've dated a few very wealthy men, but I didn't stick around long enough to see if I could turn myself into a high maintenance woman or not because their wealth did not make up for their distinct lack of brains or their love of themselves.

Re: High maintenance women
High maintenance women? That surely refers to each and every one of them.
I was out with three of them today, two of whom I'm closely related to. On the surface they don't look particularly 'high maintenance', until they compared odd bits of jewellery they were wearing which didn't look much either, to my untrained eye.
One diamond ring came from Tiffany's in Las Vegas (I knew about that one), one watch came from Tiffany's in New York (nothing to do with me), and the last one's watch, which I didn't know about, came from Regent Street in London.
I think the last one was boasting, the watch had an odd name, it started with Jaeger . . . something, but that's a brand of Schnapps, isn't it?

Re: High maintenance women
I guess I'd feel similarly about high maintenance women. Given that sex is a tradeable commodity, and comparatively cheaply purchased, I'm damned if I will put up with crap in order to get it, doubly so because if you have to put up with crap to get it, a) the supply is liable to be tightly controlled, and b) it probably isn't going to be worth what you pay for it anyway.

Re: High maintenance women
High maintenance could equally apply to a pensioner whose partner visits the hairdresser every week and also has a pedicure and manicure, doesn't only apply to rich men.
OK marrying for money but there is nothing like having your own. Always had my own income, would hate to be totally dependant on anyone. Equal partnerships work best. Wouldn't say no to the odd luxury gift though

Re: High maintenance women
Same here, I've always earned my own money, and therefore whatever I choose to spend it on is nobody's business but mine, whether that involves being "high maintenance" or not.

I'm not high maintenance, never had the money to be and never known anyone rich enough to indulge me. What you don't know you don't miss

Re: High maintenance women
High maintenance to me does not necessarily mean money, it means demanding attention, everything done for them and their needs / wants above anyone elses. I am low maintence
