Default Help needed please

I hope we're in the right place here and I hope somebody may be able to help. My mum and dad came to Tenerife on holiday and my dad has fallen ill. He is currently in the hospital at las Americas and I have flown out to be with my mum for a few days. The hospital is great although my mum doesn't understand a lot of what is happening. She could really do with somebody to speak to as when she's not with my dad she's on her own in the hotel. My dad could be in hospital here for a few weeks - we don't know! Is there anybody female in las Americas who could contact us with a view to having a chat with her maybe (she plays a lot of bridge!). I'm going home on Tuesday and my brother is coming out shortly after but it would be great if there was somebody she could chat to in between times. We would be grateful for any advice or assistance.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary

Hi

Firstly try the British Consulate - a real mine of information about the local area. Secondly I wondered if there is a British Legion or Age Concern branch there? Any local English newsapers should give a list of clubs and associations

Hello Hosed - and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear about your troubles.

I knew a few people in the area, and although I don't think any of them play bridge, they may still be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Friendliest and most approachable forum I have found for there is "Tenerifes forum of fun" - a Google search will bring up their link.

Good luck, and I hope things get better.

Elle xx
