My friend is going to spain in the next few weeks and is taking his laptop with him. He will be staying in spain for about 6 months and wont have broadband or telephone, now......
please , does anybody know how he could obtain broadband..can you buy a dongle (?) for maybe a set price so he can at least use his laptop to e mail home or has anybody any idea of anything else.
thanks for any replies, pat

If his Internet provider in the UK is BT, and he's only after email access, may be worthwhile using their Fon Wi-fi (free of charge in other countries if you have the Total Broadband package in the UK)

Just the usual campo caveat - don't expect to get coverage everywhere, and btw be aware that sometimes the unsecured wifi turns out to be pay as you go.... and another thought, our ayuntamiento has a free access internet room - maybe others do too?

We have just signed up to the BTfon site - just what we are needing to keep in touch when on holiday.
Thank you.

You just plug it into a USB port on your laptop, it will self load the program and then you can just connect to the internet. No need for a mobile phone.
