Default Healthcare for pre-existing conditions

Hi,

Firstly FANTASTIC forum!

I lived in Spain a few years ago for about 12 months and now I am desperately wanting to go back there.

My partner has Diabetes and I have HIV and I am trying to find out where we stand out there as far as healthcare.

We will both be working and paying the necessery contributions but will we be entitled to free healthcare or will we need to pay for it? (Obviously no insurance companies will touch us despite the fact that we rarely need any form of treatment or consultations).

Any help on this would be mch appreciated - I think the Spanish climate will do us both the world of good and I really can't wait to get back out there.

Thanks guys!

my hubby has a pre-existing condition & was treated in the local hospital here last november.

They will operate in due course - which is more than they were willing to do in the UK:curse:

we pay national insurance.........works out to roughly 250 euros a month

I'd say the healthcare generally is better than in the UK

Hi and welcome

If you are working and contributing I don't think they discern between new or pre existing conditions but make sure you get an E106 form from DWP before you depart. You use this to register in Spain
