Hi everyone
We are hoping move to Ibiza where our daughter has lived for the last 15 years.
As we are both pensioners with state pensions and a private pension we intend to rent rather than buy.
Our only concern is healthcare. We did hope to use the S1 route but with all that's going on (Brexit) we may have to look at private health insurance.
Any suggestions/recomendations?

Healthcare is still available as Brexit (if it happens) has not changed anything yet

Yes indeed they may have changed - If you cannot get access to healthcare I would say paying for private will cost you 100's Euros per month unless the Socialist government are voted back in and continue their policy of healthcare for all but you will have to be residents and may need private health cover to qualify.

Chances are by October we will be having Theresa's Mays meaningful vote number 20. My view is that no deal will only happen now by error or EU saying enoughs enough! With a deal you will be covered with S1 as we will be in the transition period. I don't think anyone can guess what may happen with this fiasco. I paid private for this year as unable to get S1 and it cost me 950 euro for the year.

On a similar line......my husband and I are both 55 years old and looking to move to Andalucia prior to either the withdrawal in October or within the 21 month transition period. We won’t be of pensionable age for 12 years and were hoping to take early retirement - live on savings and maybe do some part time work if we can. I have looked on the health care in Spain pages on the GOV.Uk website but it really isn’t clear how we would access heath care - anyone in a similar position? Do we take out private healthcare until we become pensioners or can claim residency in 5 years time.?

We go to Ibiza next week for a month and will be meeting up with a lawyer and accountant who will hopefully make things a bit clearer. However it could still change by October.

Hola
Real Decreto-ley 7/2018, de 27 de julio in theory gives free healthcare for the under 65's in Andalucia. From memory it was in answer to a directive from the Spanish government in response to an EU directive.
The Chiclana Foreign Residents Association is currently trying to get the situation clarified through their solicitor and I will return here if we get any clarification but it could (is usually) months

That’s great news - I think we will need to get to Spain and then hopefully everything will become clearer once we are there - we have our NIEs in place - just got to take the plunge in all this uncertainty -
