Thanks Fred Probably my misunderstanding, I thought that by having to obtain an NIE number to purchase a property and gain the essential utilities, that this would have automatically 'registered' a person as 'resident', but obviously not. May have to look into this a bit more and do the 'necessary' as our current 'Temporary' residence is intended to be only 'Temporary' before becoming a little more 'Permanent'

Do you mean by temporary that you use your house as a holiday home? If so and your holidays don't exceed 90 days per stay and total days in the year don't exceed 183 then what you have at present is fine. Only thing I don't get is you use the term temporary residence, what does that mean? As Fred says the 90 day rule is not really enforced but may be of course if you came to the authorities attention for other matters.
