avionisto is an unknown quantity at this point

The DGT probably take the view that a small number of foreign registered vehicles entering Spanish ULEZs will have a miniscule effect on the overall NOX levels in Spanish towns. Any benefits of offering stickers to foreign car owners would probably not be worth the administrative work involved.

Basically means if you dont have a sticker or cant get one you can 'book' a day ticket. But you can only do this 10 times in a year.

So I have a 1988 Mini Moke which is far too old (although not polluting as its CO2 is actually quite low) to get a sticker. So I pre register and then can book the 10 days I want to go inside the zone (well for now anyway) and if stopped I wont get a fine.
Jonny Foreigner with no sticker must also do the same. And this is the rub, not knowing about it doesn't excuse you.

As of 2025 NO vehicles without stickers will be allowed in BCN...

Each town or city can go about it in their own way, although some may copy Barcelona. There are going to be a lot more zones around as every town above 50,000 will be getting one this year (list in the link), although I guess there'll be delays due to the technology not being ready.

Benidorm is on that list. Can't wait to see where the boundary line is.
40% plus of the cars round here have registrations beginning in A which means none of them can come in (including me)

I have a diesel car from 2003. I am happy to keep it. I live in the country normally a ZBE will not influence my life. The car is a bit of a work horse I get to carry wood and tools around which sometimes comes with us on longer journeys.
I wonder what happens when you breakdown the insurance company's recovery kicks into action. The car is taken on the flat bed to a garage within a ZBE. Once repaired how do you drive it out with out being fined. Not a chance I feel.
No maps published because most of the locations on that list have still to implement the plans.
This link in RTVE write that pans can take up to 18 months.

This link also from RTVE gives and indication of the percentage of vehicles in each province that may not meet the requirements to enter a ZBE

As a side note here is a website that covers all European low emission zones. It is useful if you are planing a trip outside of Spain. Some countries require vehicles form outside of the national boundary to apply for zone stickers.

Just a thought......maybe if the camera does not log you coming in - (being taken in on the flatbed lorry) then it can't get you when you are leaving??

Another thought can't believe there are many car dealers/repairers in the real inner zones - typically out in the poligono areas.

Garages inside Barcelona's LEZ sort out authorization for cars that don't have a sticker or have an A sticker.

Vehicles on a grúa: Fines have been mistakenly given by "radars" (speed cameras) Fines may have been returns I think by what a bloody palaver.

Thanks for that. I hope that this will work countrywide.

I've just been to retromalaga, a classic car show - i suppose if people are driving to the shows (there were hundreds of cars and only a few on trailers) so they could use one of their days for that I suppose ?

That was the case until now, there were complaints from the Barcelona-Sitges Classic Car Rally and others. However from this year you're allowed to drive classic cars in all LEZs nationwide if you register it as a classic car first. You're only supposed to drive it inside LEZs occasionally though (who defines that? ) Other benefits are lower road tax, lower insurance, and longer times between MOTs. This was a concession as part of the widespread rollout of LEZs from this year.
