Default Halifax internet banking

Is anyone else having problems accessing the Halifax internet banking? I can access our savings account but the current account has 'not available' against it. I asked at our bank in Spain and they said there was a problem but it would be sorted quickly so not to worry - that was two weeks ago! Surely it should have been sorted by now

Is that a Spanish or UK account ???? I'm only on internet banking in the UK and that working just fine.

It's our UK account which I am accessing from Spain. I've asked my daughter to go to the bank to ask what the problem is. Phoning from Spain could be expensive as they always put you on hold, so hoping my daughter can get some answers. Do you know their opening hours for Christmas Eve?

This would happen at Christmas!!

Just tried logging in to mine, no problems at all.

Sorry don't know the opening times, i don't go to the bank, do it all online. Looks like you will have to get some more cash from under the mattress.

Thanks for that Mike Then the problem must be with my bank in the UK. They have charged me for being overdrawn - yet they won't let me transfer money from my savings account so that is defeating the object!! Idiots!! Looks like I'll have to phone them

Nothing under the mattress G

That makes them clever not stupid, there well aware of your situation and position, which helps to squeeze a little more from you.

You may want to try taking them to court, but until the test case in January the OFT has put a stop to any claims for bank charge refunds.

Been trying to access the account all morning and one packet of jaffa cakes later I've still not had any success!

Try deleting the cookies in your temps file. It could be that the page is reading and old cookie and telling you the page is still unavailable when it is actually there. (simplified version of what is actually happening!)

Then log back into your bank and see if it is there again.
